ip address changed
The dn.fi empire switched ip address during the evening/night. The data upload does not work as the ssh keys don't match. Data is still however uploaded to StrikeStar Europe.

WinSCP upgraded and tweaked
The old WinSCP version seemed to hang more easily due to the 3G uplink reconnection. Some script commands where altered and a new version of WinSCP was installed.

As another UPS device needed a new battery I swapped the Stormtracker for a new one and took the old back in use. (It was previously replaced back in September 2007).

Few days downtime
The usual Fonera 2.0n disconnection problems still continue. However the webserver was also down for a few days. When a few days had passed the reset button was pressed, it apparently fixed the unknown problem!?

NSMon installed (Google Earth)
Fonera 2.0n router updated to firmware 2.3.6.0 but the crap still does not work. I also installed NSMon which creates compressed .kml files for e.g. Google Earth.

The Fonera 2.0N router crashes and needs to be power cycled quite often. Let's hope Fon will release a new firmware which fixes the problem soon...

Change of upstream data connection
The stormtracker data upload has until now been using a expensive land-line ADSL connection.
The data upload connection has now been switched to a cheap wireless 3G cellular HSUPA (UMTS) uplink.

GPS added and Strikestar EU client upgraded
Due to bad USB 1.1 ports on the motherboard the UPS status connection has been lost quite often. For a couple of hours ago an five port USB 2.0 PCI board was installed along with a 1 GB memory stick for data backup.
The new StrikeLink (a SynCom replacement) client application, which uploads strike data to StrikeStar Europe server was also installed. A GPS was also connected and configured to be used by StrikeLink.
The GPS with external antenna was actually bought back in July last year to be used with StrikeLink but was not installed until now. It however seems to be a non-supported GPS receiver as the fractions of a second is always 000 in the NMEA sentence.
